Many of Geoff Healey's family treasures, items from the Donald Healey Motor Company showroom and the Donald Healey Motor Company 'Cape Works', as well as personal items of Donald Healey and Geoff Healey, and numerous items of Healey and Austin Healey memorabilia, will be auctioned on 7th / 8th September, 2002 at Beaulieu.
These Healey treasures all have impeccable provenance - coming from Geoff and Margot Healey's home in Warwickshire. The auction is being run by Jamie Knight of Bonham's auctioneers.
At this early stage (Mid May, 2002) the items have not yet been catalogued into formal lots by the auctioneers. However, the list below serves as a guideline to the vast array of, and types of items which will be on offer at this auction. As Geoff Healey's family add more items to the auction, I will add them to this page. As the September 2002 auction draws closer, please check at Bonham's Auctioneer's website for formal information regarding catalogues/ lot numbers/ formal descriptions of lots etc. The information provided below is advance information provided for the benefit of other Healey enthusiasts, and is subject to change, addition, alteration etc. The descriptions below should not be relied upon for bidding purposes.
The auction will include the entire contents of the Drawing office from the Donald Healey Motor Company Warwick.
Items to be auctioned (as at mid May) include:
- The original one and only drawing board and stool as used by Gerry Coker, as seen in 'The Healey Story' (by Geoffrey Healey) and as pictured above
- Plans chests, drawing implements; french curves and others; all tools for Technical drawing.
- Original drawings
- Gerry Coker drawings
- Drawings which didn't reach production
- The lifesize two dimensional man used for mockups
- Blue Prints
- Myford lathe
- Pictures from the Donald Healey Motor Company showroom Warwick, large and small, to include ads for Sprites; Big Healeys; and photos of races etc.
- Trophies won by Geoff and Donald Healey - various - to include trophies won at Le Mans, Mille Miglia, Targa Florio etc etc
- Land speed record shots (from the land speed record attempts at Utah during the 1950's)
- Trophies from AH clubs, awards to Geoffrey and Donald Healey etc
- Various badges
- Posters from early races
- Original catalogues and brochures of all Austin Healey and Healey cars and Healey boats.
- Old magazines (many!)
- Specific artefacts from races to include special signalling lamp from Le Mans; Oil Cans from LeMans etc.
- Racing goggles
- Speedos from specials and prototypes etc
- Many parts and bits from old cars and Healey prototypes, (not yet sorted or catalogued - comprises approx 6 crates).
- Donald and Geoffrey's valve radios
- Many many small personal items to include office items such as pens, stationery, Donald's cabinets from his personal workshop containing electronic items etc.
- Historical Healey documents which have not yet been itemised.
- The only surviving piece of glass (as far as we know) from the Donald Healey Motor Company works. Art Deco etched design on it. The size of a door.
- Enameled garage sign reading: "BP" in huge letters over union jack with British Petroleum Spirit underneath. 5' X 4'.

Geoff Healey's family (Margot, Cecilia, and Kate Healey, Directors of Healey Automobile Consultants Ltd (Sole owners of the Healey Trademarks and winged device) are currently extremely busy uncovering and identifying the items for this auction, and have provided this information in order to satisfy the many email requests they have received from Healey enthusiasts regarding this auction.
